The Year in Pharmacy: 2021 In Review

PrescribeWellness Team · January 6, 2022

As we start a new year, we wanted to take a moment to wish our front-line healthcare providers a happy—and healthy—holiday season and to express our sincere gratitude for the crucial role you continue to play in delivering personalized care throughout the pandemic and beyond.

We also wanted to quickly recap the impactful new pharmacy tools, resources, and enhancements PrescribeWellness introduced this past year, as part of our ongoing effort to support our nationwide network of pharmacy partners to deliver comprehensive and critical patient care to communities across the country.

2021 in review

1. MedWise Risk Level™

To continue guiding community pharmacists with personalized medication decision support through its MedWise® Science, Tabula Rasa HealthCare made the MedWise Risk Level™ available in the Patient Engagement Center (PEC)—at no cost to PrescribeWellness customers.

The MedWise Risk Level takes medication safety to a whole new level by providing pharmacists with a streamlined user experience that allows them to quickly and easily identify patients at high risk for ADEs, and who could benefit from a Medication Safety Review™. More than just an identification tool, the MedWise Risk Level can even help pharmacists connect at-risk patients to a certified MedWise Advisor™ pharmacist for a Medication Safety Review, significantly improving patient outcomes.

2. Success Center relaunch

To set your practice up for success, we proudly launched the PrescribeWellness Success Center earlier this year! The Success Center offers a completely redesigned and improved user experience that features enhanced keyword search functionality and upgraded overall speed of the PrescribeWellness website, enabling you to find the information you need quicker and easier.

The Success Center also offers a refreshed library of training and informational resources, such as quick guides, webinars and marketing kits that support our pharmacy clients achieve optimal utilization of the PrescribeWellness to effectively engage with patients.

3. Contact-free vaccination enhancements

PrescribeWellness understands and appreciates the critical role pharmacists play in getting Americans vaccinated, which is why we enhanced the customization offered in the Contact-free Vaccination Intake and Scheduling solution—for both patients and your pharmacy practice.

Patients are now able to set appointments in advance, by walk-in, or both, while your pharmacy can select the number of appointments available within a given time-frame and the length of each appointment. You can now also receive notifications via the PEC to help improve your pharmacy’s daily workflow.

4. Enhanced Medicare plan review support

Choosing the right Medicare plan can be a difficult and frustrating experience for your patients. The PrescribeWellness Medicare Plan Review dashboard comparison tool allows your pharmacy staff to offer total plan coverage by quickly displaying optimal Medicare plans to your patients. And now, in partnership with eHealth, PrescribeWellness gives your patients access to certified Medicare experts, who can discuss the finer details of Medicare Advantage or Part D plans, and who can even assist in the enrollment process.

Additionally, your pharmacy can also take advantage of no-cost targeted text messages and mailers to better connect with your patients about Medicare plans throughout the year, including anytime a patient turns 65.
